Sparkling amber lime tea cooler with ice and bubbles in a tall glass, styled with fresh limes and black tea

This Sparkling Lime Tea Cooler starts differently from regular iced tea: the black tea bags are placed directly inside a bottle of 7-Up and left to cold-infuse in the refrigerator. After 6–7 hours, the fizzy tea is poured over fresh muddled lime and ice for a simple drink with citrus, tea flavor and plenty of bubbles.

Why You’ll Love This Sparkling Tea Cooler

It needs only four simple ingredients, there is no separate tea brewing or added sugar, and most of the work happens while the tea infuses in the fridge. Fresh lime adds a bright citrus finish that balances the sweet lemon-lime soda.

Ingredients

  • 500 ml 7-Up
  • 2 black tea bags
  • ¼–½ fresh lime, to taste
  • Ice, as needed

Instructions

  1. Infuse the 7-Up: Carefully open the 500 ml bottle and slide in 2 black tea bags. Close the bottle and refrigerate for 6–7 hours. Do not shake it.
  2. Muddle the lime: Add ¼–½ lime to a serving glass and gently crush it with a muddler to release the juice and citrus oils.

  1. Add ice: Fill the glass generously with ice.
  2. Pour: Slowly pour the chilled tea-infused 7-Up over the lime and ice. Keep the tea bags inside the bottle as you pour.

Pour slowly over the ice to keep as much of the carbonation as possible.
  1. Serve: Stir gently and drink immediately while cold and fizzy.

Recipe Notes

Keep the tea bags in the bottle: Because the tea bags are infused directly inside the 7-Up bottle, there is no need to remove them. Pour the drink slowly and leave them in the bottle.

Don’t shake the bottle: The drink is carbonated. Keep the bottle refrigerated and handle it gently so you do not lose the fizz.

Lime amount: Use ¼ lime for a lighter citrus flavor or closer to ½ lime if you like it more tart.

Infusion time: The version tested for this recipe was refrigerated with the tea bags for about 6–7 hours.
