Vanilla Affogato Latte

This Vanilla Affogato Latte started as an affogato idea but turned into a creamy coffee dessert of its own. Two scoops of vanilla ice cream are topped with a freshly brewed latte, creating sweet melted vanilla layers, coffee and milk foam in one glass.
Vanilla Affogato Latte

- Prepare one fresh latte using medium-roast coffee.
- If you prefer a sweeter drink, add ½–1 teaspoon sugar to the hot latte and stir to dissolve.

- Finish with a light sprinkle of coffee powder on top, if desired.
- Serve immediately while the ice cream is beginning to melt into the coffee.
What I Used
I used freshly ground Kirkland medium-roast coffee beans and the latte setting on my Gourmia coffee machine. These are simply the products I used at home — any medium-roast coffee and any machine or method that makes a latte will work.
Recipe Notes
The milk in the latte softens the sweetness of the vanilla ice cream, so a little sugar can be added if you like a sweeter coffee drink. Taste first, then adjust to your preference.
This is affogato-inspired rather than a traditional affogato. A classic affogato is typically vanilla gelato or ice cream topped with hot espresso; this version uses a latte, which adds milk and foam.
